Article below is all about how Leicester very nearly won the double during the record breaking freeze during the 1962-63 season - is a very good read. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/oct/06/forgotten-story-leicester-city-ice-kings
Very depressing when you lived through it, brilliant untill the last few matches, Banks Stringy Gibson Mclintock ect now that was a great city team..Dam am I that old already..now that is depressing....LOL
that was my first season as a match going fan having previously seen them in the 61 cup final on b&w tv as a 10 year old. i went to my first match in october 1962 and got hooked. i was there behind the goal for that 4-3 win over man utd and i dont think to this day that i have seen a better player than denis law. it was a fantastic match and i lost my soprano voice for days. probably the best city team of all time
mclintock king and appleton---what a halfback line that was and gibson was probably the most skillful leicester player of the last 50 years
