Brings back vague and distant but happy memories. Had forgotten that we used to play 2 days running - something that Arsene Whinger would be appalled at nowadays. Players were not prima donnas, there was no diving, no substitutes, and if I remember correctly, it cost my dad 6 old pence to get me in the ground. The queues to get in the Kop would go all the way round the corner of the ground and halfway down the car park. No security stewards, just coppers with pointy hats. Davie Gibson playing with his tracksuit bottoms on, Stringy falling over his own feet one moment, then beating 2 or 3 players and scoring the next.

People forget there was such a thing as football before the premiere league and we have had lots of very good sides over the years.
