Kinda forgot about this one, as there's Riveros to........

SUNDERLAND defender Marcos Angeleri is continuing his recovery from a second knee operation.

The Argentine defender, restricted to just two Sunderland appearances since his £1.5million arrival from Estudiantes in the summer of 2010, went under the surgeon’s knife during the summer after previously undergoing an operation in his homeland at the tail end of last season.

Angeleri was expected to be ruled out for the bulk of the current campaign and O’Neill confirmed the 28-year-old is continuing his rehabilitation.

“It must be so frustrating when you’re out with such a long-term injury,” added O’Neill.

I'm particularly sorry for Angeleri, who's been out longer than either Campbell or Meyler now. It was hard enough on those lads so what must it be like for him, especially as he was just on the verge of an international career. Still, MON's comments show that his 'clean slate' promise is being held to and I think that's good news for everybody. Without that, we'd have McClean in the reserves and Kilgallon at Doncaster.

If things don't work out with some players, that's fine, but I'm glad everybody's getting their chance.
