Er, wow... Here's the confirmation - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18153109 - and we lose the match highlights posted on each club's BBC Website page. As a perfect example of a self-deluding quotation, this has to take the biscuit - Football League chief commercial officer, Richard Heaselgrave, said: "In a short period of time The Football League Show has become an institution amongst supporters of our 72 clubs, more than a million of whom tune in every week for the comprehensive coverage the show delivers. We are therefore delighted that it will be continuing for a further three seasons."
Not having the individual match highlights any more is really annoying, it was the perfect procrastination technique to watch every single game in the football league from the weekend. I think I've watched every game this season. How am I going to fill my Monday afternoons now?
Removing the online highlights is criminal, but i suppose that means i'll finally subscribe to CAFC player. Just think we'll be on in the first 45 minutes...
Removing the highlights on the clubs BBC pages means more viewers....which means i'll now HAVE to watch that utter rubbish!
You will NOT have to watch the whole show! Wait for sunday morning and go to the football page...... on the right hand side is the previous day's FL show....you can then use the slide bar at the bottom to skip all the crap and just watch the Charlton bits
Sky sports website will I hope, continue to have the highlights video. They tend to post their video a little later on the Monday, but since they are usually the first to show the goals in any event(on Saturday evening, not early hours Sunday) then it might be earlier on Monday from next season. This will mean that we dont have to listen to the drivel by Claridge. I, for one, dont mind Manish, he may be a leicester supporter but he is an innocent stooge for his compatriots ramblings and whilst he allowsClaridge to get away with spouting rubbish he is on the whole "mostly harmless".
Worth getting CAFC player so that you don't have to sit through all that to watch the Charlton match. Mind you those who do seem to know a lot more than me about various football league players.
Does anyone know if the BBC are going to continue to show one full game a month for the championship? Seen as I am in the midlands I don't get to the valley as much as I would like and combined with the number of championship clubs here I was hoping that next year would be better for seeing as many games as is humanly possible!
This is bs. The online highlights were an extended version so you could actually see more than 30 seconds of each game. Good job BBC, take away the one thing which was somewhat decent.
He comes from a long tradition of BBC frontsmen who know a little about the game but (think des lynham) but have not played it at a senior enough level to know any better. He is definitely "mostly harmless" unlike Claridge who makes my blood pressure boil and may induce a coronary in so many supporters that he ought to have a health warning tatooed on his forehead. By the way with regards to Manish, I didn't say I liked him, merely that I don't mind him, in the same way that I don't mind getting on a crowded train if I have to be somewhere in a hurry. Like a plate of cold porridge, you eat it if you are hungry not because you like it.
