I once fell out with my parents and, as a result, didn't speak to them for three years, and all because I trod on an upturned hoover plug and blamed my mother for leaving it out. I was in agony, but would the old man listen? No, I was exiled for mildly raising my voice in the family home. Utter folly if you ask me.
