Anyone that went to the Burton game would have noticed the gigantic Argyle flag being unfurled over the Devonport End crowd.Thought it was quite exciting having the flag pass over my head-it's a great initiative, if its good enough for liverpool it's good enough for Argyle.Have read some disparaging remarks on other sites about it,someone said it cost £3,500 as far as Im concerned its money well spent.UP THE ARGYLE!:emoticon-0100-smile

I think what people find hard to swallow is that that amount of money was spent on something which didn't have much of an impact on people. £3500 is a lot for a piece of material with a patern on it. Not only that but they already have a flag which used to be passed around the ground in years gone by. It wasn't a negative thing just in my view wasn't particularly positive either. I also think that it might fade away just like the last one did. I understand it was paid for my donation so it is up to the people who handed over their cash to both judge the thing itself and whether it was worth it. Just not really for me.

Was'nt sure if it did cost that ammount and who financed it.Thought myself it was a good gesture but like you say remains to be seen if it continues to appear on match days.

I found it funny that the younger fans didn't have a clue who a couple of the faces are

From where I sit 3 of the faces were recognisable instantly but the bottom right hand corner as you look at it took a bit of seeing although once in full view was obvious.

The last time I saw an oversized flag at Home Park, the difficulty in moving it around the ground only emphasized the gaps in the crowd, which was more embarrassing than anything.

Perhaps it should be saved for the rare occasions when the ground is largely full?

Would be great for away games as normally fill the visiting supporters ends, but would have to constantly move the thing around as to see the game in turns. Lol.

Spot on Gat with the faces. They only roll the flag out before kick off not during the match so no problem with the view. They also didn't pass it around the ground but kept it at the Devonport. Novel seeing it once perhaps but flags quickly become old hat. Still can't see the point in it.

Yes sensible..........you could make a lot of old hats from a flag that size.
