Shefki Kuqi has sealed a move to SPL side Hibernian after a short but fairly impressive spell with Oldham, scoring 11 goals last season in League One.

Though he was never really used for us, Kuqi certainly left a lasting impression on a lot of Toon fans with his work ethic and professionalism. At 35 this could very well be his last port of call but I feel it's the ideal move for him.

The SPL is now a more open league and Hibernian are a well supported club with the outside chance of qualifying for Europe. The standard of play is comparable to League One so he shouldn't have any major issues adjusting.

Thoug Hearts are my 'Scottish team of choice', I will certainly be following the progress of Shefki very closely and I wish him all the best. Great to see the big man get one last chance at glory, his attitude towards football and indeed life has certainly earned him this right. <ok>

ps. This is also the official Kuqi love-in thread.
