One of the best fights I've seen, such a shame it ended so tragically...

 

I will definitely be watching this, as sooperhoop says - one of the best fights ever.

Watched this fight from a hospital bed (knee op) when I was 16 years old and could not believe what I was seeing. Benn was such a warrior, real nutter. Was screaming at the tv on the hospital ward!! Sad ending, but grit and determination at its finest. Never say die attitude from both fighters......maybe the rangers team should watch

Don't want to sound crude but Benn was a killer. That's what he was. An absolute animal of a fighter. One of the best Britain or Irl has ever produced.

 

Anyone know if this is gonna be repeated 'cos i only caught 10 mins of it last night when i got home from work. Really looked a great documentry and well worth a look.

 

i watched bits and pieces of it last night. To see McClellan in the condition he is in does bring a tear to my eye especially when the boxing match was all in the name of entertainment. at least his family appear to have made peace with Benn, won't say forgiven because the after effects of tha fight are with them every single day

Cracking Documentary

 

I couldn't watch it.

I really used to enjoy boxing, and when a big fight was on i'd stay up to watch it. However, this fight, and the one between Chris Eubank and Michael Watson, are what turned me completely off boxing. Certainly knowing that I was watching someone being beaten so savagely that he would suffer irreperable brain damage would be too much for me.

 

I watched the fight in a pub in 95, never forget it, I thought it was one of the best fights ever. I remember GM being this top fighter and that Benn would struggle. Easy to say now but i remember at the time (gum sheild and blinking) and thought that's not right. Even when he went down i said that something was wrong.
Rest is history.
So sad to see him like that but WTF was he doing with that idiot coach?

 

I know,unbelievable wasn't he, you'd think the hat would've been a clue!

 

Will try to watch it on i player or when its repeated, thanks .

WTF had happened to the coaches face....looked like a bad botox job.

 

And the ****er blamed everyone but himself,when he said it was not his job to stop the fight,i thought the corners job was to look after there man.
