We are closing in on the halfway point of the season and it's time for the busy Christmas and New Years fixtures. If we are going to recover to a healthy position in the league we are going to need to really go for it over the next handful of games and reassert ourselves on the league.

    Our games are:

    Boxing Day - QPR (H)
    28th Dec - West Ham (A)
New Years Day - Southampton (A)

Currently Southampton sit two points ahead of us in fifth, West Ham (surprisingly) sit four points ahead of us in fourth. And Utd are five points ahead in third.

Both Southampton and West Ham play us and Chelsea during these games. And Utd play away to Tottenham (who are level on points with us) and Stoke.

This means we have every opportunity to get back ahead of Southampton and West Ham heading into the second half of the season. And potentially a chance to get back ahead of Utd into third spot.

We seem to play better when we can get into a rhythm and I'm hoping the bunched up fixtures will work in our favour. These are all winnable games and now is the time the team need to start performing!

    9/9 please Arsenal!

We could see ourselves back in 4th and within touching distance of United if we step up and play like Arsenal. The League is a write off unless City and Chavski pull a madness but we can at least got for 3rd. A good festive period and a CB (at the very least) as well as a DM (a dream but one can hope) in January would give us momentum.

3 winnable games, but we seem to be making hard work of it this season. Anything other than 3 pts against QPR will be a disaster, I'd take a point at West Ham, they will be well up for this game. We should be beating Southampton also now that the wheels have come off their season. Would be very happy with 7 pts.

Utterly depressing. Writing off the title in Decmeber, settling for a point against ****ing West Ham, this is what it has come to. We spent **** loads in the summer and have gone backwards, and yet there are still people who back Wenger.

So we started with a win on Boxing Day (with all the usual heart attack inducing excitement of Arsenal) which positions us with an opportunity to storm back into the top four with our game against West Ham.

The Red for Giroud is going to make these festive fixtures a little more difficult but we haven't struggled to find the back of the net recently and so I hope Welbeck and Sanchez are able to make up for girouds absence.

    3/3 so far.

Our win over west ham makes it 6/6 for the festive period.

Only a win over Southampton to go to put us back closer to where we want to be and a successful 9/9 for Christmas!

With Chelsea, city, utd, Tottenham, Southampton all drawing today the table is looking kinder.

Great result today and a really good day all round with the other results.

Also, we shouldn't forget that West Ham have beaten City and Liverpool at home so far this season, so that makes it an even better result in context.

The icing on the cake would be a win at Soton, 9 from 9 in the space of a week would be like a ****ing rocket up our jacksies and put us right in the mix.

The icing on the cake today, Maureen's little hissy fit about the 'campaign' against Chelsea, what a **** <laugh>

Koeman confirms "[Clyne] got a kick on his ankle. He's out for around 10 days. I don't think he'll be available for Arsenal game"
No Morgan S. as well. Kos and Theo back. Rambo might be as well. We can and should make it 9 out of 9 and start the year in Top 4.
