is there any wonder rumour and stories get distorted. Just look at the heading of this news report in our award winning, internationally acclaimed local newspaper. The interview with Robinson's agent has obviously taken place just before the play-off semi, and the question put has obviously been "would Karl be interested in the Hull job if he were to be offered it?". Quite understandably the agent has toed the line (see what I did there? ) and given the bog-standard answer of "only focus is on the next MK game", blah, blah, blah, answer that actually means nothing. Instead of reporting that, the Fail report that he is not interested in the job, which is NOT what the agent meant. It could just have easily warranted the headline "Robinson refuses to rule out Tigers move" Top class journalism, yet again from the newspaper that brought you "Christ Chiltern" and "orange and black"!!! Karl Robinson
No, just a bit boring how every article gets criticised. We know it's a ****e paper that's why I choose not to read it too much, otherwise I would find myself moaning about it every day!
The way I read the article is that the discussion with the agent took place after the play-off defeat. The agent says that Robinson has only been focusing on the play-offs, he didn't say he's just focusing on the next game. Didn't Buckingham tweet about this yesterday, saying that the story would be in todays HDF? That suggests to me that that's when he spoke with the agent. It is probably the quote from the agent that said along the lines of "there has been no contact from Hull City and it's not something that would interest Robinson at this time" that led to the headline. I don't think the journalism is as bad as you suggest in this instance.
by a strange 'coincidence', I believe 'Umbersard had the same story. Perhaps they read the paper, where most locals dont bother.
They print stories without researching the background, there was one particular story on there I commented on today regarding the girl wanting to change flats. They have given the person a big headline without checking into her circumstances and asking anybody with local knowledge what is going on. She basically branded the locals druggies without any feedback from other residents, one quick look at her Facebook page and anybody can draw their own conclusions as to the basis of what she's saying.
That's exactly the way I read it too. I reckon it's only City fans that could complain about the HDM, we get at least one story a day, and usually 2 or 3 interviews a week, as well as a 6 page preview to a game and an 8 page review, and the local radio summariser writing a column in the paper. I guess we could always rely on the club to give us all of the news though couldn't we!
At the minute the Mail can go **** itself having just seen the Kilbane article they've written to stir things up. What the **** has Barmby's sacking actually got to do with Kilbane's future being uncertain like it implies in the headline? That might sound a bit odd given Kilbane is one of our coaches and the manager generally has a say about coaches, but in the article they even say that Kilbane hasn't decided whether he wants to give up playing or not yet. Unless of course Barmby was going to keep him as a player as well, the thing that makes his future with us uncertain is whether or not other clubs offer him a playing deal for next season, nothing to do with Barmby leaving.
There's buttons at the bottom left of posts now to do that. I just loaded this thread up and that was the only new post. <angry>
