Whilst I never wanted Barton at our club and would love to see him gone, I do feel the FA have yet again shown themselves up. I think Barton got what he deserved but it wasn't so long ago that the FA board and Rooney were in front of a UEFA committee 'begging' to get his ban reduced for violent conduct. And why fine him £75k, pointless. Sounds extreme to the normal man in the street, but it would have to be £1m plus for it to have a material effect on Barton.
