We have a sweep in work where we all chuck a £ in the kitty, and forecast the results of the weekends PL matches, no scores, just home win, away win or draw and the person or persons with the greatest number of correct results scoops the pot

I got lucky this weekend and forecast everyone correctly, the guy that runs it has just presented me with the princely sum of £22 <ok>

I've just done some back of a *** packet calculations. and if I'd done this as an accumulator in the bookies my £ would have got me just over £700.

So the moral of the story is if you are going to gamble

    DO IT BLOODY PROPERLY !

I used to work for Jack Brown (now Ladbrokes), taught me one thing, you never see a poor bookie.

I know an ex bookie who went bust - took a big bet on an outsider and didn't lay it off, outsider came in first. He lost his house!

I had a fiver on Gerrard last saturday..£145 back...Kerching. Always tend to bet on the defenders and Whitts at the moment as that the defenders are the only height we have up front, seems to pay off, made a few quid from Olipjyamas last year aswell, and i only ever have a bet at the stadium

I remember shutting Ned Sprague in Pentre; There was a tip going round Pentre Legion Bar - Able Albert came in at 12/1, half of Pentre had money on the horse and the bookie couldn't pay out. It was a Friday afternoon; he opened on Monday paid eveyone out and never opened again.
