Fifteen years ago today Fulham made their first foray into the European (or Uefa, as it was then known) Cup in a first leg match against Hajduk Split. And at one of the most intimidating arenas around -

Jean Tigana's side was full of confidence though, on the back of a 3-2 victory over Spurs and a 3-0 win at Sunderland. With Edwin van der Sar in inspiring form, the lads silenced the Torcida with an impressive goal shortly after the break. Steve Marlet found his fellow Frenchman Steed Malbranque on the left, who passed an unerring left-foot shot into the far corner of the net. 1-0 Fulham and roll on the second leg.

    The team that night was:

Van der Sar; Brevett, Goma, Ouaddou, Melville; Inamoto (Clark, 77), Davis, Malbranque, Legwinski; Hayles, Marlet
