Quill's predictions: Favourites: France, Germany Decent chances: Belgium, England, Italy, Portugal, Spain Dark Horses: Austria, Croatia, Switzerland, Wales
Right, I'm going to try and predict the tournament, then I'll come back and see how close I was. Will put them in a spoiler box so that this post isn't too long. Spoiler: My predictions (a long post) Group Stages (Winners, then Runners Up): A - France, Switzerland B - England, Wales C - Germany, Poland D - Spain, Croatia E - Belgium, Italy F - Austria, Portugal Third Place teams (four of the six go through, those four in bold): A - Romania B - Slovakia C - Northern Ireland D - Czech Republic E - Rep. of Ireland F - Iceland Round of 16 (winners in bold) (the R16 fixtures depend on how the 3rd place teams who qualified finish, so from this point it could be 100% wrong): Switzerland - Poland Spain - Slovakia England - Czech Rep. Austria - Italy Germany - Romania Belgium - Croatia France - N. Ireland Wales - Portugal Quarter Finals (winners in bold): Switzerland - Spain England - Austria Germany - Belgium France - Wales Semi Finals (winners in bold): Spain - England Belgium - France Final (winner in bold): Spain - France Best Player: Antoine Griezmann (France) Top Scorer: Romelu Lukaku (Belgium) Spoiler: England get further than I thought I'd predict them, and my sweep doesn't win.
I usually watch nearly every game in the tournament but there's too many teams now, too many minnows.
Spain have got absolutely no chance! Poor in qualification, poor in prep games and who can forget world cup 2 years ago! Germany have too many defensive injuries to go all the way so my tip is France, Belgium or England to win it. Dark horses Austria and Wales.
Any fancy sticking their neck out on the 'surprise' player of the tournament? There's always someone who rises to prominance, and it doesnt have to be a 'no namer', I just mean not one of the real superstars. The way he's been playing Kinglsey Coman could be a good shout.
