Sweepstake results.

Thank you all who have entered the Euro 2016 sweepstake, numbers went very quickly and there are only 24 and so apologies to those who have missed out. Ok the random order i chose to number each team was the order they were to qualify for the Euros.

Therefore France were 1 as the host nation, England 2 as we were the first to qualify from the groups on 5 September 2015. Iceland were the 4th team to qualify on 6 September 2015 where as Germany were 15th to qualify on 11 October 2015. Sweden and Ukraine were the last 2 nations to qualify on 17 November 2015 via the play offs.

So here is the full list of numbers/teams/players - not sure if we can get this on the original Euro 2016 post for easy reference.

Dont despair if you have ended up with Albania or Hungary etc- It is the year of the underdog.

Belgium. Happy with that, unless they turn out to be the new France/Holland.....

Rooney bashing on BBC, I still think he's our best player and will always get bashed, just like Beckham/Shearer in the later years of his career with England.

Vardy doesn't look international standard to me, he's a player you bring on against tired defences. His asset is chasing down defenders and getting in the area to score, he is doing neither albeit not all his fault.

I would play 2 up front, or one with 2 behind. Kane with Rooney and Alli in tow working together.

Dier in the midfield with Wilshere and probably Lallana, even though I dislike him intensely.

Hodgson has made a mistake in not taking Townsend. He should be a bench player who is brought on to run at tired players. Chasing a game and you can bring on sterling, Townsend and Vardy is an asset. But he will start Vardy, far out of position making him become a passenger.

Dewch mlaen, Cymru! Auto-correct really doesn't like the Welsh language  By the way, if you're going to attempt saying it, the ch in the first word sounds as though you're spitting from the back of your throat. Not quite :emoticon-0119-puke: but close :D

This "ch" and spitting from the back of your throat.... Is it pronounced "ron" ??

This. Vardy on after 65 minutes or so.

Agree with most of that. Think most positions are nailed on to be fair. I'd be tempted to go with a diamond in the group stages and then dropping another midfielder back with Dier for games where we won't dominate the ball.

Back 6 of Hart, Clyne, Smalling, Cahill Rose & Dier.

Kane, Rooney & Alli or all nailed on to start so that leaves 2 spots a midfielder and wide man so Lallana/Sterling and Wilshere/Milner/Henderson.

I reckon last 16/qf depending on who we get.

Looking forward to the first tournament without the 'golden generation' though :)

8 days to go, Come on England!

Id leave Alli out. He's been crap for the last few and looks more likely to be the next Beckham/Rooney red card than to do anything useful.

Hate Lallana but when he came on (like normal) the play sped up and there was someone in the midfield other than Rooney trying to find space.

Did you not see the way Alli controlled that 30 yard pass that dropped over his shoulder, early in the first half? I'd have him in the side just on the strength of that.
