Seems that there is more than 23 players.

Caulker played well for us and I'm not surprised that he's in there.

Great to see caulker there but just because an English player plays for man united doesn't mean he should be in our squad. Wouldn't have Smalling or Cleverly anywhere near the team.

How on earth does Milner get 44 caps, and just 1 goal to show for it.

This squad really hasn't been based on this season. Lambert shouldn't be near the squad. If it weren't for penalties he would have about 5 goals. Just another grant holt, Cleverly is just terrible, if he played for Newcastle, Swansea etc Hodgeson wouldn't even look at him, same goes for Smalling. Huddlestone should of been in the squad, same goes for Osman....

add Carrick to that list, I have never seen what he brings to the England team. We need to bleed a few younger players over the next year, as post the World Cup this year I think we will probably see the end of Cole, Lampard & Gerrard, and when you take their Caps out of the squad it suddenly becomes pretty in-experienced.

Has Rooney scored more than 2 goals for England in the past year??

I agree completely about Smalling, but Cleverley has always impressed in an England shirt. Players shouldn't be picked solely on club form. If they perform for England they should continue playing for England.

Milner is probably one of England's better players, mainly because he acts as cover for some of our wandering defenders. He gained a number of his caps alongside Glen Johnson, who basically played as a midfielder while Milner sat back and waited for the opponent to break.

Everyone slates Milner because he doesn't appear to offer much to the team, but you won't find another player as selfless in his approach in England. Without him, our defenders get spread out on the counter each and every time.

Finally, he's a central midfielder by trade, but I don't think he has ever played that position for England, mainly because he'll never be picked over Gerrard and Lampard.
