Great performance today V Rotherham - see what we can do when the shackles are off!! . However, there were a couple of times when Rotherham walked through our midfield too easily. Therefore should we use Harry (Maguire not Callaghan) as a midfield enforcer? Sitting in front of the back 4, Harry could offer some much needed protection and in effect would provide us with a 5 man midfield to counter that of Derby. I'm talking about the away leg here with Diame being the one to make way. We all know Mo can't play twice in 4 days anyway. Thoughts?
Interesting idea. Bruce says he sees Harry as a Yaya Toure type player, big, strong, can carry the ball through the middle, puts in some great long passes (through balls?), real threat in the box on set pieces, and can tackle. Hudds is vulnerable defensively, is slower than Harry, and Livermore needs support to neutralise Derby's midfielders running through. I'd leave Diame in though, and put Hudds on the bench.
We must have looked at the games we have lost to them, lets hope we have learned from them, yes they do have a very good midfield and will be backed by a 30,000 crowd so expect them to come at us. Hopefully we will change something we have to after 6 goals against and nothing in return
We should've gone in for Sam Morsy when we had the chance. His nickname? The Enforcer. Would be worth a lot more now though.
We do have an abundance of good centre backs so we can spare him from there, and for a defender who doesn't play a lot he seems to cause a lot of trouble in the opposition box, either through getting in there himself or through being involved early in attacking moves.
