In his first three games for AIK in Sweden, Dickson Etuhu was booked in each match. When he joined us, eight years ago yesterday, few knew what to expect from the man Roy signed from Sunderland for £2m. None however would come to doubt his 'Enforcer' role in the partnership he formed with Danny Murphy. Proof of his ability was perhaps underlined when in 2010 he devasted Liverpool, who wanted him to replace Macherano, by turning them down; instead he signed a new 3 year deal with Fulham. Sadly things didn't quite work out as planned from there on in, for him or club and he was transferred to Blackburn in 2012 before moving to AIK a couple of years later. Injuries plagued Dickson in those later years of his career and still do. Back to Fulham and happier days. This delightful goal probably says all you need to know about Dickson's technical skills:
Pretty sure it was Dickson who got the vital away goal against Juventus in our European run, for that i be forever grateful!
I remember when we signed him a Sunderland fan described him as 'having a first touch so good that every second touch is a tackle'.
