A few weeks ago,PDC said that he needed an Englishman in our midfield to be an inforcer,or words to that effect, and that was one of his transfer targets.Little did he know that he already had that player in his ranks!!!Why pay millions for a midfield "hard-man" when you already have one ??Lee Cattermole must feel like a quality new signing to PDC ....a class-act mid-fielder for nothing!!I,for one,am looking forward to welcoming-back our class-act "enforcer"!!!

Please do not expect miracles....the lad is going to need at least 0 games to get fully up to speed.

Aye lads....we know he has class, but he doesn't have a 'class temperament'...does he ?

Catts, without doubt can be a world class Kevin Ball, so to speak, without the - 'I'll get sent off' agenda to look hard.

Nah, f*ck that, I'd rather PDC gives it to him straight, i.e - " right son, I want 11 on the field, nothing less"........" comprehend ?"

This could actually be either a rebirth of Catts. And to be fair I'm looking forward to his attitude here on in.

    Ha'way Catts lad !!!!!!!!

But why didn't he know it? We all did. Anyone he would have cared to ask would have told him and if, like he says he watched DVDs of our games he would have surely seen it himself.

Lee Cattermoles return to our squad and maybe team isn't a tactical masterstroke IMO, it's more of an admission the summer recruitment has not been all it should have. Catts was effectively told to find a new club over he summer as he wasn't part of the new look. Now he is the catalyst for a new look team. I'm extremely glad he is back and have long championed the lads contribution but don't try and convince me it's a tactical coup from the management.

Are you claiming he didn't like ............. based on what evidence?

More guesswork dressed up as facts I'm afraid.

Who says Di Canio didn't know the players qualities, he'd never seen Fletcher play but there was no question of him leaving.
Isn't it more likely that Cattermole was 'Bardsley-light' and twisted his face at a tough new regime?

Who's saying he's the catalyst for a new look team?

Who's trying to convince you it's a tactical coup from the management?

He's a Sunderland player and will be used as the management sees fit. Surely that's perfectly reasonable.

I can't see any good reason why anyone would want to build this up into yet another 'big deal' with Di Canio unless it's part of an agenda.

I wouldn't rush him back, the problem being if he's not up to speed he's always late in the tackle & I can see him being sent off. Which is more the case than just wanting to hurt players. We definitely could do with an in form catts though. I would stick him on the bench give him 30 mins, give him the full 90 in the cup game.

Not too sure how running around kicking people can be categorised as world class, but we are conceding too many goals so we need to tighten up a bit

Personally, I am just pleased to have him back, whatever the reason. PdC might just be the man to get the best out of him, as Catts knows he won't take any excuses for stupidity.

For me there isn't too much difference between Catts and Bally. The main difference between them is the way the game is officiated.

Here we go again Cest. Anyone with half a brain can see Ellis wanted his wages off the books. Make it about Paolo again. It's boring mate.

"I said I know what you feel. I know what you felt. You are upset. It is part of the situation but now you have a big chance. You have one of the most honest managers in the world who tells you you are one of the most important players because it's the truth. But if you train bad or behave badly off the pitch, like you did, I don't know, in the past, you can't stay in the squad. You are intelligent you saw how it was with some players.

Paolo evidently rates Cattermole he was just wanting him to change his attitude and knuckle down.

Speculation will only end up with factions throughout your fan base, there's little point to it really.

Di Canio has a moral code that his players must live and die by in order for his philosophy to work, how good a player is or how much they cost is irrelevant if they don't pull their weight by his standards. Only time will tell if this works and if it doesn't then Di Canio can just say he didn't have his players fully committed to him, it's smart. I think it can work, by the way, but only after he can get harmony within the squad ranks if that is achievable. Up until now it hasn't been, by the looks of things.

Good luck today hopefully John OS can redeem himself!
