Aaaahhhh -don't we all just love politics ! - thanks grumpygit - can I ask how you are going to please all of the people all of the time ?

It is often said that there is no place for politics in (any) sport. I can understand this viewpoint. But there are many other viewpoints - many are very 'personal,' I am unsure if our members have the 'stomach' for more politics in their lives -- but -- whether we like it or not, politics has a major influence on the consequences which we must endure.
At the 2016 General Election, the Conservatives 'won.' But 63% of the people who bothered to vote, didn't vote for them. The Tories won with votes from a tiny' number of the electorate --- Mind you, they did better than UKip - who won only 12.6% of the vote. This was despite UKip seemingly being very popular with the Brexit bandwagon. The electorate was promised that if it voted to 'leave' Europe, it would regain control. ---- That's coming along nicely (not!). - the issue of Brexit is much more complex than people realise - but - just as in all forms of politics, each of us has a different agenda from the next person .......... which is why politics can never simultaneously appease everybody..........However we live in a society that is increasingly selfish - and not interested in the viewpoint of others, or the difficulties in their lives. With selfishness comes greed - and that extends to sport and its' participants. This includes non-playing elements, such as The Football Association, Sky, BT, etc.

The politics of money is ruining Football in the UK. It is ruining the development of 'Home grown' talent - who are not given a proper chance - because of the foreign talent who come to the EPL to join all the others who want to 'screw' its' customers. The foreign talent helps to attract further TV money ( which, in turn screws its; customers each month ) - - and so the vicious circle continues........................... Football has being ruined by the politics of a small number of people - only interested in your money. These people are now scared that the politics of the Nation is about to stop their 'gravy train.' Brexit may well see a change of personnel on the pitch. Why shouldn't Football be subject to any new rules with which the rest of us will have to abide.

I didn't vote for Brexit - but I will adapt my life accordingly -- that is what Football in the UK needs to do..........Football should not expect to 'have its' cake and eat it' - that is only for the Politicians !

nb - next time be careful what you vote for !
