So Walter Smith sails off into the sunset with another title in the bag. Congratulations to him and to Rangers. Will he truly retire or will he be tempted back into management, most probably down south? I wouldn't be surprised. So Celtic lost out on the title but there is plenty to be positive about. A novice manager and a young team. Some excellent bargain signings such as Izzy, Kayal, Ledley and Hooper. As for getting Kris Commons for 300k - that has to be the best bargain in Scottish football since Lubo. Unfortunately, like young teams often do, we lost games at crucial stages. Both management and the players will learn from this. In fact one of the things that's most impressed me about Neil Lennon is how quickly he learns from his mistakes. You only have to think back to the first OF game and the consequent OF games to see that. So now we have the Scottish Cup to look forward to. Yesterday's result will have absolutely no bearing on next Saturday and McCall will play a far stronger side. So, all in all, it's been a disappointing end to the SPL but the positives outweigh the negatives. At least we've got the Scottish Cup to look forward to.
I agree ST, we have done remarkable well with a whole new squad of players who can only get better with experience. Fat sally will be escorted off the premises within 6 months.
