I think it deserves its own thread. The facts that are emerging about how successive crooks have asset-stripped Bury has put the spotlight on the Fit and Proper persons test. Listening to the interview on Radio 4 this morning with a spokeswoman was an insight into the level of complacency within the organisation. She completely absolved the EFL for all blame, saying the usual "Lessons must be learned", which usually roughly translated means "Lessons won't be learned". Having got rid of one crooked owner, as Dick describes, Bury then acquired another one who, within a week of buying the club, had started siphoning off the assets to another of his companies set up for his daughter I think. Once an owner has blagged his way through the F&P test they can do what the hell they like. What a murky world British football has become.
Steve Dale's (the Bury owner) comments last Friday …. Dale spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday, ahead of the deadline and while he was still trying to sell the club, and stunned listeners by admitting he had never previously heard of the club and would not find it difficult to walk away from the situation. ‘I never went to Bury. It’s not a place I frequented,’ Dale told 5 Live. 'So for me to walk away from Bury and never go back is a very easy thing to do. ‘I don’t do anything up there. I didn’t even know there was a football team called Bury to be honest with you. ‘I’m not a football fan.’
The interim chair of the EFL, Debbie Jevans said on talksport to Jim Shyte earlier that this bloke had bought Bury without the EFL knowing, how can that happen
A slap on the wrist for Bolton from the EFL. For failing to fulfil TWO league fixtures - a five point suspended deduction. So any Club that doesn't want to play a fixture, just go ahead and postpone it unilaterally. Charlton should call off their game against Cardiff this weekend because we have so many injuries.
