    Hard to believe but true.

I have an account with Ulster Bank and for 3 weeks its been messed due to the computer problems etc.
I haven't used my ATM card for just over 2 weeks and made only 1 over the counter withdrawl, 2 weeks ago,
just to allow things time to calm down and get sorted plus to allow me to be sure of transactions.

Everything seemed to get sorted on my account 2 days ago and I started to carry out my normal business,
i.e. ATM withdrawls, payments online. At 7:00pm last night they stopped my card and prevented access to my account
stating possible fraudulent card use. I only found out when I attempted to make a payment today, using my card.,

I contacted RBS Fraud Team and asked them what was up, got the run around for 2 hours on the phone, they said they couldn't tell
me exactly why the card was stopped and access to my account blocked but that the account/card had been flagged by their 'Police Liaison Team' as having been compromised or fraudulently used.

Without fear of contradiction these people are the worst excuse for a Bank I have ever had the displeasure to be acquainted
    with. Assholes.

There was no fraudulent card use, the account has not been compromised. Their reasons for saying this lie, I believe, in the fact
that there was limited use of the card until yesterday: This is explained because I couldn't access my account for almost 3 weeks and because it took them that length of time to sort themselves out. Their Fraud Team, however, were obviously not aware there were any problems at the bank.

No one contacted me to clarify or query any transactions before they took their action.

I want it to make this recommendation to everyone who reads this:

DO NOT BANK WITH RBS, NAT. WEST or ULSTER BANK. They are not fit to to call themselves a bank.

I guarantee I will not be alone with this experience.

Been with Nationwide since I was about 14, never had a single problem with them, no fees and you only play a couple of pence a day if you go overdrawn.

Belfast, my sincere sympathy, this is the sort of thing which raises my blood pressure to really dangerous level, and brings me very close to violence. Moved house a couple of years ago and had some attempted fraudulent use of our new address to apply for loans and credit cards ( not in our name) eventually had to get the police to talk to the banks to get them to change their records and stop phoning us up in a threatening manner. Twats, one and all.

    Sorry to hear Belfast
First Direct since the start but I hate bankers full stop ... Greedy shallow people who actually believe what they are doing in juste and fair.
Don't get me started on insurance ...
The company I work is in bed with all the majors doing all the difficult design stuff and we turn over 2bn here in the uk alone ... I am banned from working on some accounts as cant keep my gob shut ... It will always continue and you can imagine some the arseholes I have to work for ... I am a hypocrite as its easy money at times I hate myself for making the outside look good for the customers ... I need another gin

DT, in the context of them all being ****ers, would you recommend First Direct? Thinking of switching to them after over 20 years with the same bank for the current account still makes them think they can treat us like scum.

Cheers Sooper, I have only had decent reports so far.

Though whether it is wise to seek banking advice on a football forum is another question.....

Could you phone them again and sort me out a 2 bed in Tenerife.
    I'll be forever grateful.
I'll be over in Nov at the Southampton game with an Irish contingent, I mean if you want a pint
or two, I could arrange. Thanks in advance, as they say...:cheesy:
