I'm telling ya. The nidiriu planet discovered by the Sumerians in 2500 bc is hurtling towards earth and will collide with earth on the 21st December 2012. Further evidence, if any is needed, is that the Mayan calendar stops on EXACTLY the same date. Two cultures separated by thousand of miles without Internet link up predicting Armageddon at the same time in history. I'm ****ting myself. I daren't tell our friends over at Charlton life.
You're always looking on the negative side typical - think of the fortune you'll save on Christmas presents.
For those interested this site contains a lot of theories about December - 21st to be precise - apologies if posting links to sites isn't allowed http://www.december212012.com/
If u want something to blow u away, try the book on Mayan civilisation, popol vuh. I didn't get half of it but it is truely genius.
There have been about 514 leap years since Caesar created it in 45BC. Without the extra day every 4 years today would be 28th July, 2013. Also, the Mayan calendar did not account for leap year... so technically the world should have ended half a year ago.
My sons birthday is 21 december. We resisted the temptation to christen him BeelZebub. We went to see 2012 at the cinema. He got quite upset. "Even if the world comes to an end will I still get my presents that day?" I like his thinking.
I went to see a German band once called Popol Vuh, supporting Amon Düül II at The Lyceum circa 1973. Now I know where they got their name, cheers typical. You learn so much on this site...
Kinnell Tewkes, i bet you remember some obscure band called The Beatles ? Actually, one amusing anecdote from a Charlton game of circa 20 years ago, standing in the Covered End, Dad turns round to his son, and says 'that player looks like Bobby Charlton' only for son to say..'Dad,who is Bobby Charlton?' - made me feel old - even then.
