I don't get it, what has he done to them that has made them hate him so much ? I know he use to play for Liverpool but Paul Ince used to play for us and he joined Liverpool and went mad when he scored against us in the 98/99 season. I 've always respected him, he's still the only english player in the last 11 years to have won the Ballon D'or the only other player to have close to winning it was David Beckham, I was glad that we signed him in 2009, we needed a striker and he can finish as well, I will never forget that goal he scored against Man City in the manchester derby in the same year, pople say he's past it but he's only 32 years old and has another 2-3 years at least. He's a role model to youngsters and has been helping our young striker like Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck. He hasn't moaned about being on the bench for us, he has a good attitude. Thoughts ?
Happy enough he's at utd but I'd not lose sleep when he leaves. Yes he was a good player but injuries have taken their toll. I was surprised we signed him as he will never be first choice. Part of me thinks he was signed to piss of Liverpool.
He's scored in a Carling Cup final for us, which is hilarious, especially as we now know that the Carling Cup is on a par with the European Cup, and he's won a league title with us, which is even funnier.
