And in some schools they want to teach children that we've only been here 6000 years.
It must be a slow news day here in Missouri as one of the lead stories is about Disney releasing a Baby Yoda toy. Baby Ugly Be.
Where is the Mrs Yoda toy? He waited a long time to have kids. Was she resisting the Force?
At $350 a time, there are bound to be huge queues when this hits the shelves.
Also it is reported that McDonald's are going to market a range of scented candles that allow your home to stink of their products without the need to eat them. McSmells
What were the Japanese thinking about with that boat? It became a floating Petri dish. There was absolutely no logic to keeping them on and even less logic to how they’ve let them off.
As my then Japanese boss said to me as we landed at Tokyo airport ‘welcome to the country of the closed mind ‘.
Utility companies that decide to dig up the exit onto the road at your house. Would have been simple for them to let me know before they started on a 3 ft deep trench but oh no that is far too simple and now my car is trapped
With the impending Armageddon I was thinking of buying shares in dominos, Netflix etc discuss.
I've sold my biggest position this morning and taken the profits. I wouldn't invest in anything at the moment as there is so much nervousness in the market. As soon as Coronavirus is fixed (medication available and new cases reducing) then review again.
My thinking was, in any market there’s winners and losers. With everyone being advised to stay at home streaming services and food delivery companies are gonna do a killing.
Netflix back close to their $400 all time high though - might be too late? At least they are clinging to positive territory today, otherwise its a bloodbath - Tesla down 12% and more
Dominos up 10% .
I heard on the radio today that UK Uber Eats reports that 60% of their 2019 business was from people wanting a delivery from McDonalds. Are folks too lazy to visit their kitchen, so hit the phone for what can only be described as a gut full of fat saturated crap. Crazy.
Sad ****s would be my completely honest assessment
And pay extra for the privilege lazy fat f#cks.
Biggest earners and biggest losers from degrees
Will the rocket scientists at the IFS have been well paid to publish the facts on the bleeding obvious?
If you go to University and study the creative arts, you are throwing away your money. Especially if you are white and studying Media Studies. Most will be flipping burgers in McDonald’s to pay the bills because only a handful will become rich and famous.
If you go to University, go and study a subject that is in demand and pays well. What a total non-surprise that economics and medicine are the biggest earners. I am surprised that biology does so badly as I would expect that a science allied to medical studies ought to be in demand with pharmaceuticals researching cures for all the ailments of longevity and cancer.
The Blair mantra of “education, education, education” appears to have peaked and slipped on to the downward slope. Many youngsters would be better off taking an apprenticeship after their A levels and getting into a trade – a different sort of “education” but one that does not come with a £50,000 debt to repay.
Not really much surprise that the Universities are grumbling about the findings as they rely on the income from graduates so they do not want someone telling 20 per cent of them that they are wasting their money. They prefer young people to give their brains a rest for three years while they party at their own expense.
Scenes from the Hoffenheim v Bayern Munich match today will resonate throughout the whole of Germany. For months here there has been discussion around the treatment of public figures, both in social media and in the real world. Verbal abuse of the lowest form and death threats against politicians and other high profile public figures are becoming more and more commonplace. During today‘s match Bayern fans unrolled a banner declaring Hoffenheim Chairman Dietmar Hopp a „son of a bitch“. Despite furious remonstrations of Bayern players and officials the banner was not removed. Finally the referee took the players from the pitch. When they returned, Bayern Boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stood hand-in-Hand at the side of the pitch with Hopp as players of both teams passed the ball around in an unprecedented display of solidarity. In a Country where right wing extremism led to the murder of a politician last year this is seen as an important stand for respect and decency against an increasingly violent political climate. Deeply moving scenes.
Horrible computer voice but it sums it up well
Reminds me of my first commodore amiga computer, great times!
Isn’t this about fans being rightly angry about their football culture in Germany being eroded. Hoffenheim the German Man City?
For me it is typical of a deep-set German reluctance to progress and develop. The ownership rules for German football clubs are essentially the very thing stopping them being more competitive in the Champions League or Europa League and to me they seem to be some sort of archaic, pseudo-communist ideology. Why shouldn't a successful businessman be able to bankroll the club of his choice through 5 divisions and into the top flight? Surely it adds competition which is badly needed in the Bundesliga? Bayern Munich are held back in the Champions League by lack of real domestic opposition (what I call the Celtic syndrome).
The protests at the weekend were apparently in response to the ban on Dortmund fans travelling to Hoffenheim for the next 2 season's games. Fans apparently upset at being collectively punished. But surely football fans are a collective? The same collective which gives them the anonymity to display offensive banners, chant racist or sexist abuse and not be singled out. For me it begs the question why those "real" FCB fans didn't tear down the offensive banner at Hoffenheim?
More pertinently, it raises questions about the growing desensitisation in our society in terms of the abuse hurled at public figures on a daily basis - both on social media and in real life.
I wish we had more fan power in football here. The German fans see the end game.what is that? Increased ticket prices and those fans being priced out. My brother has been attending Dutch and German football for years, he loves it and wouldn’t want it to change.
This situation on the Greek border is going to escalate out of control. Turkey has had 5 billion off the eu and is now blackmailing them for more money and or eu membership.
