The BBC website shows this photo of Derby players celebrating after their victory over Leeds. One of them seems to be wearing some kind of "man-bra"?????
Unfortunately that's not uncommon with the modern footballer OddDog, seen it a few times now when a player has whipped his shirt off celebrating and they've had a 'bra' on underneath
Hmmmmm ................ I wonder if it is designed to prevent nipple-chaffing? I used to suffer quite badly from that when I did long distance runs. Looks very weird but each to their own I suppose
Football is a women's game. In Australia we don't have to worry about men in bras. Our man Shervo in action.
Here's an interesting article. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/may/17/european-companies-cant-compete-against-global-giants
it holds the chips that monitor various readings such as heart rate, body temp, distance ran, speed ran etc. not a fashion statement.
Capitalism For Dummies... Company shares that will never pay a dividend – it says so in the Company Articles. Company spends money like it grows on trees. Company senior management leave on a regular basis and are replaced by inexperienced people. Company makes a loss every quarter with no sign of a profit. Company fails to meet any production targets. Company Chief Executive regularly flaunts stock market rules. Company does not have a monopoly in any of its markets. Convinced? Then rush out and snap up some shares in Tesla. A licence to print money (you need one).
Maybe we are ahead of Europe in realising we don’t need industrialisation just concentrate on services and banking.
Kevin Kühnert, the head of the "young socialist" section of the SPD here in Germany, has recently made an interesting suggestion: Nationalise big companies such BMW. Kühnert says: "Without collectivisation of big companies like BMW we can never defeat capitalism". He also suggests legislation that limits individuals to owning only the 1 property they live in, in order to relieve pressure on the housing market. Whilst he has been ridiculed by "establishment" figures I think he is right to bring such ideas into public debate. I think there would be more people in favour of such moves than the establishment would find comfortable - hence the attempts to immediately discredit him.
Let us nationalise everything – sounds a lot like career loser Corbyn’s plan. The unions will love it because it puts the workers in control as they can simply go on strike all the time. What then happens is that the companies become inefficient, nobody wants the products and they go bust. In the capitalist world, the companies have to make a profit to continue to exist so they employ the best management people that they can to keep them in business. If the workers are so clever, why are they not running the company instead of someone else getting paid more than them to do it? Successful companies tend to attract big investors like pension funds, who see a stable well run business as good news for the people who rely on their pension products – like the workers. I was not aware that there was any particular housing problem in Germany as I thought that most people there lived in state-owned property (what would be council housing in the UK). Stopping individuals owning more than one property is easily worked around: man buys house where he resides in own name then buys second house in wife’s name. If the Socialists are so convinced that capitalism needs to be defeated, why do they not all move to China? The Chinese have whole cities of empty housing that I am sure that they would be glad to let new converts occupy. There is also no need to bother with elections as there is only one party and they tell you who you are going to elect. Anyone having issues with how the system works can be sent to one of the less hospitable regions of the country for a few years of re-education. Sounds like a no brainer for fans of the Left way. Or should that be fans of the Left way have no brains?
Opinion: Austria's far-right show their true colors: https://www.dw.com/en/opinion-austrias-far-right-show-their-true-colors/a-48791473 The despots of the far-right are certainly showing their true colours in the USA too. Mad as March Hares, the lot of them.
"US president says war would be 'end' of Iran as tensions rise." End of the planet Earth, more like it. I do hope the American youngsters (in particular) manage to kick the ass out of this dangerous lot of old farts, currently in power in the White House, in the U.S. Presidential election. Things are getting pretty grim.
I wouldn't be so sure about a change of heart Swanny. The think the hate and sensationalism is too heavily ingrained for it to subside enough in the next 18 months, to make a difference. I think the world will be stuck with the ugliness for years to come.
Congrats to the St Laurence O'Toole pipe band who traveled across from Ireland to take out the 2019 British Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow. The band's drum corp led by Drum Sergeant Stephen Creighton also took out the drumming first prize at the comp. They also finished third in last year's World Championships. More than 120 bands and 4000 pipers and drummers from around the world gathered in Paisley.
This takes me back to my youth and my sister participating in Scottish Dancing competitions. The rest of us had to follow, traipsing round England to places like Corby and spend a day watching Scottish Dancing and pipe bands. The ringing in the ears seemed to remain with you for at least 24 hours. The 2019 versions probably have to issue ear defenders at the gate. Fookin dreadful racket .
Takes me back to my Army days Chan. Massed bands tattoos and 200 bloody squawk bags and drummers droning and tapping away at 7am. Not good. We used to say that bagpipes were a joke invented by the Irish, but the Scots hadn't caught on yet
