You might think you're a bit of a lad Vlad with your topless posturing on horseback but you haven't spent an hour in my boudoir.

A short while ago 2 tornado jets went screaming over our house (the time when Russia were in Britain's space). They were in a major hurry and it was deafening

This morning 2 fully loaded bombers flew very low over some of our trees. No idea where they were going but apparently they do fly low here under the radar (no idea what that means)

Livens up the day a bit

Anyone remember Nostradamus and his "Predictions"? Apparently he implied that WW3 would be started by a small man from the East. Didn't occur to me that could be a Russian

I'm proud to say that the industry in which I work (aviation) is full of absolute heroes. A dramatic event occurred yesterday on a Southwest flight from New York to Dallas where the left hand engine shed a fan blade (the fan is the first compressor stage - basically the big blades you see when you look into the front of the engine). A window was broken and a female passenger sucked partially out of the window before being dragged back in by fellow passengers. Sadly the passenger in question (a mother of 2) sustained fatal injuries.

The first video is a CBS evening news bulletin, the second is a summary of the communications between the aircraft crew and air traffic control. It is humbling to listen to these absolute professionals managing an emergency situation with maximum professionalism and minimum fuss. Awesome.

The hot mumble. The little fella just might be called Prince Albert. If so, I wonder if he was named after that famous stick man Prince Albert who in time would become King Edward VII, the Queen's great grandfather?

I'm emptying the piggy bank on Prince Bertie. :)
