    First time back in the UK for a while and my Mum wants to watch Emmerdale.

    Seriously, what the **** is that about? A far cry from Amos Brearly and Mr Wilkes. A missing person hunt (not involving the police of course) and a gay black vicar. How times change <laugh>

    Our Ukranian friend arrived with her daughter and both are settling in well. Luckily her husband is working in Europe but her parents still remain in Odessa. Her father is 55 so he will be called in to assist the army. Nervous times ahead until this situation is resolved.

    What a silly ass President Biden is at times. His latest speech was excellent (well done to his speech writer) and Biden went and wrecked everything with those ill-chosen, unscripted, words at the end on a Russian 'regime change' He really put his foot in his mouth, as did George W. Bush at times. Seem to remember a former Texas Governor (Ann Richards, renowned for her pointed oratory) remarking once with the classic, "Poor George, born with a silver boot in his mouth". <laugh>

    Robert Dunne has had his ban reduced by the BHA to 10-months on appeal. The whole hearing appears to be an absolute farce with the Chairman, Sir Anthony Boswood, QC, taking sides with Dunne's defence lawyer almost every step of the way. In fact, he even made suggestions that the defence counsel never even thought of! Here's a blow-by-blow account in an interesting article by Lydia Hislop:

    IMHO, the hearing was an absolute shambles. :(
