The difference in our team today

  1. ...without Shola in it.

We stopped playing hoof ball to Shola, and played it more across the ground. This brung Cabaye into the game more and what a ****ing performance, he made our team far more creative and threatening.

Potentially he's even better than Barton. His shooting is more accurate, his vision is better and the execution on his passes is ****ing orgasmic.

The only way we'll get the best out of the quality we have like Marveaux, Cabaye and Sammy is playing it on the ground where we have the ability to play some outstanding stuff, I've got no idea why on earth Pardew couldn't see this.

Lumping balls to Best and Shola takes players out of the game, which is why Cabaye has been a passenger at times, yet we've seen moments of magic in each game.

I hope now we keep this style going, but next time put away more of our chances. We were against a defense that's usually highly praised, so we should be happy with a point.

The future is potentially really good for us, as long as we play it on the ground like we should. We played like a top 7 team today IMO. We keep this going on a reasonably consistent basis we could be challenging for a Europa spot.

Don't give a **** if people call us deluded. The evidence has always been there, that we could play good football, but for some reason it's taken us till now to start playing it.

I agree with everything said but it's brought not brung...sorry to be a pedant!

Anyway, i don't see why we shouldn't finish top 7 (or even top 4...yes deluded i know!) if we can perform like that every week! <diva>

  3. I think we play the best football outside the top 6, but Stoke are the hardest to beat so i think they might just nick it off us tbh

Spot on. HBA, Cabaye, Obertan, Marveaux, Gutierrez and even Ba and Best seem to prefer the ball at their feet. If we can get Ba finishing crosses, HBA getting flick-ons and Best scoring tap-ins - WOW!

That's nothing on Peterborough getting 90% against whoever they beat 7-1 <ok>

Oh and just to clarify, i DO think we can get top 7 if we play like that every game...definately not top 4! I'm not THAT deluded <laugh>

  12. The only teams playing well so far is the top 3, us and Stoke have played well defensively.

Already better, more creative and more influential imo. To say 'potentially' is an insult to the guy. He's a ****ing top player.

I agree. We played some superb ground-based passing football today. Lots of passing and even a few Man Utd style one-twos around defenders. I loved it.

I do have to say. Collins and Dunne both had superb games, and I'd say that's a further testiment to how well we played. They were literally ****ing everywhere at the right time, and if it wasn't for them playing so well, I reckon we would have won comfortably.

Brung is an accepted past participle of bring.

Back on topic, and I agree. Although I don't think it's a matter of Cabaye potentially being better in footballing terms than Barton, I believe that he is and can do better for us than Barton did. Although, for me, Barton's true strength was more in his on pitch leadership, even if he did turn into a royal **** now and then.

  15. I think we deserved to win, but with some of the mistakes we made, i'm happy we got the point in the end. Hopefully we'll carry this over to next game and rape Blackburn <ok>

But no doubt they're on a high after beating Arsenal 4-3.

Who are you, Pardew's sidekick? <laugh>

On a more serious note, the football looks good to watch, just canny wait for Ben Arfa to return so he can play in the hole behind Best.

Yeah Cabaye is definitely already better than Barton, theres no 'potentially' about it. When he scores his first goal it's going to be goal of the season, his efforts are getting closer and closer and more and more spectacular as time goes on <laugh>.

I'll put my nutsack on the line and say we're a few players short of a top 6 side. When we play football on the floor we play some really brilliant stuff and Cabaye is just exceptional when we do. A striker, LB and some cover is all i'd say we need to be pushing up the league with ease.

our 1st team at full strength can defo compete for top 6 , 5th at a massive push!
(of course it wont happen as depth still isnt great although younger players may provide more cover than we first thought)
