I wouldn't call it news worthy. It's unfortunate for him that he's not a house hold name from that Ashes side, unlike Botham, Willis, Boycott. But that's life. In all team sports, there will always be those who stay unnoticed after the event (despite doing a lion share of the work) and those who get all the glory. He seems like a decent bloke and should be proud of his achievements.
Remember getting his autograph at the Circle Tony Nick at one end, Chris at the other. Very little money in cricket back then.
