I've been reading this morning that the club and Hammersmith and Fulham council are engaged in new "secret" discussions about the deveopement of Stamford Bridge to a 55-60,000 capacity stadium! The thinking is about a direct exit channel, built above and behind the sheltered homes next door, to Fulham Broadway Station! If the plan can be created and approved it would not be a completed task until 2017.
I'd love to see this materialise, so its fingers crossed Blues, for our new super stadium!

Sounds great but wouldn't they have to upgrade the whole of that branch of the District Line to cope with the crowds?

I imagine that would be the next step , if H&F council can come to agreement in principle! This would of course create extra revenues for London Underground , so I would assume they'd be all for it!

Very good call, 50,000 seater stadiums are a dime a dozen in cities of only 3 million. My own city, Melbourne, has a 95,000 seater, a 60,000 seater and a 35,000 seater. No big deal. Wembley only taking 90,000 odd is a laughing stock. It should have been 150,000.

Not often I agree with HRHretard but you're right we should be aiming for 80k minimum.

I agree that they should be aiming for the maximum capacity that is physically possible, or allowed under planning permission.
But for all we know 55k might be all they permission for.
I am sure if they could go higher they would, its not like Roman doesnt have the cash. If they only go to 55k it will be because thats all they are allowed to do imo.

That's the problem, they can build as big as they like but what's the point if the only time they get a full house is when United are in town

    Probably.
Even if we didnt, it wont be long if we continue to win trophies, the SB kitchen will have to start knocking out more prawn sandwiches

Give all teams a 75k seater stadium and everyone would sell out, but only when United are in town
