I know the Paddy McCourt speculation saga has already been discussed numerous times on here, however, I want to add my own personal feelings towards the situation. Theres no doubt that Paddy is a great player (on his day) and could dance around the New York Giants linebacker defence like Barbie on ice without being touched. BUT I could go all Eddie Murphy on your &*^ and ask the question "What have you done for me lately?". I'm afraid the answer to that question is - not a lot. We could talk about Paddys wonder goals over and over and the fact that he can be a game changer (sometimes), however the fact remains that he is extremely inconsistent and will not break into the first team anytime soon. I have always defended Paddy against the doubters, however I'm not sure now if he will be missed that much at Celtic FC, if he does in fact leave us this summer. What do you guys think?
He's never going to be one to play every minute of every game But i think if used in the correct way he could be useful Like Lubo was. And id rather have the option than not
Port - yeah I agree... its always nice to to have the option Paddy is a strange sort of player... sometimes he can do wonderous things and sometimes he cant even pass the ball 10 yards. We have too many good players in his position who may not be as talented, but work harder for the team and are more consistent performers, which is a shame really!
Medro - I see you still havent changed your name... Jickola Nelavic or Papa Sasac would be good shouts!
Who the hell does that idiot Mendes think he is. We are having a nice sensible discussion about a highly skilled footballer and that half-wit who supports Rangers posts his nonsense. First of all nothing to do with him, second supporting Rangers doesn't give him much opportunity to see talented footballers. The Rangers chief attacking tactics, as demonstrated regularly by Naismith is to push the ball past the defender, take a couple of strides and then hit the ground. Mendes you have never once in all your stupid bigoted posts demonstrated any knowledge of knowing anything about skilled and talented football; so why the hell do you post about something you clearly know nothing about.
Would prefer to keep him as he does have talent but Brown, Ki, Kayal, Ledley, Commons are the main midfielders & I would prefer Forrest to get more game time than McCourt as he is still young & able to develop as a player. Played 33 times last season and we had no european games really so hopefully if we geta run in that he will get time to get more consistancy
