Today I learned the following: Sky Sports News (SSN) is a 24-hour sports news channel in the United Kingdom and Nordic countries. It is run by BSkyB whose sports channels include Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4, as well as their HD channels. Until 1 July 2013, Two hours of live feed (daily at 07:00 BST, weekdays at 17:00 BST) and one hour of delayed feed (daily at 23:00 BST) were picked up by Fox Soccer in the United States; both Fox Soccer Channel and Sky Sports are News Corporation companies. More hours of the channel were picked up in critical periods such as the end of transfer windows and coverage of qualifying draws for Euro tournaments. The American simulcasts were discontinued on that date as Fox Cable Networks begins to wind down Fox Soccer's operations for the 2 September 2013 launch of FX sister channel FXX on its channel space. Devastated, I used to watch this programme every day to keep up with British sports.
Intresting Looks like Murdoch is trying to move Fox sway from his British operations. Perhaps he might sell BskyB off. We can dream. Also happy Independence Day.mate
Lucky bugger!! This week all they've done is report live from ManUre training ground all day everyday ... guess no other clubs exist.
Thank you Mr. Wolves. As another Indicator of the growth of interest in the game in the USA, NBC bought the rights to broadcast the EPL starting in a few weeks time. This took a large proportion of Fox Soccer Channel's material. So its not such a great surprise that it is shutting down. Too bad as it obviously filled a niche market and provided a great product. I am concerned by just how much covergae NBC will provide. The good news is they have multiple channels so maybe they will pleasantly surprise us.
All been about the none story of Moyes starting his new job and the none story of Rooney might be moving but nothing has actually happened yet. It's disgraceful.
Sorry I fell in to a day dream where that certanus old Aussie windbag had nothing to do with the UK media
In my country area, we could only get poor picture for itv and no sound, so the big match proved particularly interesting. Had a rich uncle in Dublin with a color telly and proper itv so used to love visiting him bout once a month. Thunderbirds were a bitch to understand with no sound
Thanks Steve. It still amazes me how knowledgable and up to date you chaps are with all things Leeds United at all times!
