A load of complete bollocks! Love the bit when he says he remembers the players that did well for him at sunderland and Ipswich. Give us a ****ing clue Roy! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...-never-make-things-up-with-Alex-Ferguson.html
This man still makes my blood boil. What he did to this club will never be forgotten in my eyes, by far the worst decision this club ever made to appoint Keane as manager, he wasted a goldon oppertunity and we are paying for it now. He says he's not bitter and twisted, everything he says he says with a chip on his shoulder, I don't think you could meet anyone more bitter and twisted. And people say they find his honesty refreshing, no he's just rude!!! It's quite easy to remember the players who did well under him at Ipswich, can anyone actually think of anyone?? Shows how bad he was, no players showed any sort of form whilst he was here or if they did he got rid of them aka D Wright, Garvan, Stead and even to an extent Rhodes. If anyone knows anything about football, this man should never be a manager again and how he's a television pundit i will never know!!
the guy has always had a screw or two loose guru. i think that comes across in everything he does and says. agree with ptc that his 'honesty' in many peoples eyes is nothing but rudeness in mine. still, he must be a bit down after the death of his pooch
I don't mind him as a pundit to be honest, It always makes me laugh when Gareth Southgate says something and looks for approval at him, and the Royston sayd something totally different and southgate then changes his mind just to agree! legendary moments! I sometimes think he just needs to let stuff go, and that sometimes appriciate that he isn't the centre of the universe and sometimes he is surplus to requirements!
I've noticed that aswell. Which just makes me dislike him more, he just has that knack of making everyone scared of him. I think him and Southgate are polar opposites. I just remember the complete contrast between the press and him and the press and Jim. The press were so rude and disrespectful to Jim at the end and yet when Roy came in and had difficulties, he was rude to them but they were just so polite back, I remember the words "Thank you Roy" so often that you never usually hear!! Mind you I wouldn't want to interview him. It was bad enough I got interviewed about him for ITV on the spot and I ended up saying he could turn it around when I thought anything but, I think I was worried he might have seen the interview!!!lol He just has this effect on people and when people do actually stand up to him he doesn't like it!!
I've got a lot of respect for him. Certainly a lot more than I do Jewell who is a complete waste of space. Keane got a lot of things wrong but I think that's largely because he's used to winning and being around winners. Let's remember that players at this level are mostly playing at this level for a reason, they didn't / don't have what it takes in terms of commitment to be a top player. He wasn't a good fit for us and his transfer dealings were shocking but I think he gave his all.
I admit he was one of the best at doing what he done as a player but I can have no respect for anyone who tries to injury another. I think he brought a professionalism to PR but other than that I cant think of a single good aspect of his time at the club. He favoured workrate over ability and would set us up with such rigidity that we never left our own half. The workrate and commitment is important but the odd touch of flair and creativity is a must, except in a Keane team. I know things have gone bad this season but at least I no longer have to bore myself with a team of 4cbs who never leave their own half and 4 defensive midfielders.
