What a ****ing cesspit of a newspaper, havent bought a paper for donkies, when I was working I used spend over a tenner a week buying a Racing Post everyday for something to read at lunch rather than the rangers news. Anyway, was down the shops early today and decided to buy a ranger.....top of the back page "Green Brigade Cop Snub"...two pages in and youve got a two pager about Celtic fans singing IRA songs and how they wont meet with police. Hugh Keevins interviewing some unknown, who has one the biggest bluenose faces ive ever seen, and has **** all to do with the subject. The full hotline slating a guy who said he felt more Irish than Scottish apart from 2 or 3 defending him, dont tell me it wasnt 50/50. Turn the page and you have a full page size picture of Lennon kicking the bottles at Inverness and a celtic fan with his head in his hands. Turn the page onto the ragers page, "my mate mac will supply the crosses for Jelavic to grab the goals" and how Goian "piled more misery on Celtic striker Samaras" - no mention of HMRC, rangers fans continuation to sing banned songs or any of rangers countless problems for that matter.

Disgusting one sided, snide, bigoted journalism, and I dont no why it even bothered me at all, did I expect anything else? Sometimes when you stop doing something, in this case buying scum newspapers, you forget the reason why you stopped it.

The paper got spat on and binned.

    Well said

It annoys me that Celtic fans still buy these rags but its a working class tradition

Id say we need our own paper ....but we don't ....internet and newsnow are all we need

If we didn't have it we wouldn't know about HMRC and Dallasgate

The Daily Record is aimed at people with a lower than average intelligence and short attention spans.

That's why it targets Huns <ok>

    Edit: Good timing nev <laugh>

    And yet it sells........

They must be doing something right for you to get so worked up and start a thread further publicising the paper.

Big Keevo is a ****ing genius.

The Metro on the bus in the way into work and that's about it. If there's a Scotsman or a Guardian or a Times lying around I'll pick it up and give it a read.

Barely. It's circulation is at it's lowest ever, the SNP took away much of the Government advertising which used to be exclusively in the Record and it's journalists are the lowest paid of any national newspaper (honestly).

Is it not second only to the sun in terms of circulation in Scotland? Says it all if it is to be honest.

I used to buy the Record every morning, God knows why, habit I suppose. I stopped reading it a while back though because it's depressing as **** reading the same **** every day - some ned gets done for knifing someone, some ned gets off in court..... ad nauseum.

As for the football columns with Traynor, Union Jackson, Hateley, Keevins and most of the others, idiots to a man, with hugely inflated egos based upon nothing but the fact that some people (stupid people) hold them in esteem, they are just men with the same prejudices as me and you.
