I'll stick this tonight. Thanks attivo. To all: If attivo's starter is not up by 7pm continue to feel free to start a daily thread.
We can't have going reports from this far the day before, with the showers around they will all be defunct by 5pm
Yarmouth 18.55 Genius Boy 4yo colt by New Approach out of the Nashwan mare One So Marvellous. That mare was by Habitat out of Someone Special and she was out of 1000 Gns winner One in a Million. Lovely Pedigree. Available at 3/1 with PP. Seems to have been running at the wrong distance and this mile may see him to better effect. Just about qualifies for a speculative 5 points at 3/1 PS Not to mention that this time King Kieren is in the saddle for the first time.
Yarmouth 19.30 Mantou. By Teofilo out of a Mark Of Esteem mare I wonder why this well bred colt has been gelded. One thing is for sure he won't be earning any money at stud. I'm guessing they must be trying with King Kieren up so at forecast odds of 10/1 looks the ew value in the race to me. Price check needed.
I'll leave tipping the winners to yourself & other members of the forum, you are all much better at it than me
Nice work Attivo DAWN ROCK 4.10 Brighton 8-1 is two pound lower than when winning over course and distance last August. Looks a real standout bet with the brilliant youngster Oisin Murphy taking off an extra few pounds.
Maraayill 6/1 drops into class 5 company in the last at Yarmouth, he ran ok last time from what turned out to be a poor position, the winnner Aertex went on to follow up in a decent looking fillies handicap at Newbury and a couple of others have won from the race. He has been dropped a pound and its more encouraging that Atzeni is on for the first time, hopefully the cheekpieces sharpen him up a bit because he has the potential to outclass these.
That does look intriguing stick. The only course winner and been running down the field on poytrack this season. I would have thought he should have dropped more than 1lb since his last win but, as you say OM takes off another 3lb. Seems to love the course and the going "Made all, ridden over 2f out, clear with rival over 1f out, edged left 1f out, left in command final 75yds, eased close home " .......... and he is effectively carrying just 3lb more than last year. That looks a good spot at 8/1
My interesting debutante vote for tomorrow goes to SALLABEH 5.25 Yarmouth 14-1 Its a tidy looking race but this ones trainer George Margarson won it last year with LUCKY KRISTALE no less. "A good sized filly, she'll be an early two year old and I'd expect to see her out in May. She looks pretty useful, she's done sharp work up to now and she's pleasing me a lot. Showing all the right signs, she's a very fast filly and will be a five furlong type that I will hope will stay six. A lot of people are saying that Showcasing's are a bit fiery but she's not and I think she might be capable of winning first time out".
It was impossible not to be impressed by the debut of Mind of Madness however 8/13 (Paddy Power current price) is no sort of price! Could be a very hot race this. I'll take a chance on Adaay who won his debut well when the penny finally dropped about a furlong and a half out. A race that was previously won by no less than Canford Cliffs!
And speaking of the great Slim Pickins, here's some stuff from Dr. Strangelove. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLPnnPHkIuc
Glad to see you back Cyclonic, been giving the budgie smugglers an airing. Look at any Western from the 50s, 60s and 70s and Slim was in it, or it seemed so. You waited for his name to come up in the credits.
