Given the lack of any batting points, a seemingly very tight match will decide whether this has been a brilliant week or a horror week for us.

If Somerset set us anything half decent, they win. Our openers are walking wickets, and falling to 4-2 is just asking for the bowling team to go on and defend the score they've set.

If we could get that opening pair nailed down with quality next season, I reckon we could be challenging at the top in Div 1 (assuming we stay up that is!)

It's nice that that little, but vital knock from Jimmy has virtually guaranteed our safety.

 

I see Rashid is getting some turn out of the footmarks.

A 4-1 victory and yet that will not satisfy the die-hard critics such as Geoff Boycott. As wonderful a technician as he was, it is time for him to stick his opinions as far as `posible up his own pos*****.

 

I like this England team. It is unconventional with two wicket-keepers who can bat, and Moeen at number 3. Keep him there as the so-called number 3s have been found wanting. Well done to Ed Smith for his approach, as well as the England cricketers for their triumph.

I feel 4-1 is a little harsh on India - 3-1 would have been a fair reflection.

 

Lancs' collapse has brought survival even closer too.

Defeats for Lancs and Worcs tomorrow would pretty much wrap up the relegation issue, with two weeks still remaining. Prior to this week, Yorks-Hants next week looked huge. Now it looks like a match where both sides will be content to rack up 500-6d each.

 

Well done to Worcestershire on winning the T20. Anyone here a Worcester fan? Being their first in this competiton I am happy for them and their supporters.

 

Im a Hampshire fan but im delighted for Worcestershire. Great to see a 'smaller' county win a major competition. The ticket allocation for Finals Day seemed damn wrong to me with the four counties only receiving 500 tickets each for a 25,000 ground. Ive been to a couple of Finals Days when we have got there and never had much problem getting tickets, although one of those was at the Rose Bowl.

 

Hants top order failed miserably yet again, you are never going to post a decent score when the first three batsmen last a total of 35 balls between them and expose the middle order to the relatively new ball.
