Fine by me. I don't care if it's April, July or September. You don't choose to bowl first at the RB, if you have any sense.
Just checked the forecast for the new county cricket season starting today, a sizzling 13C, cloudy and breezy!! But it gets better next week. https://www.bbc.com/weather/0/2643743
Just seen Rilee's dismissal on the ECB site, what sort of shot was that to play on nought?. We need him to step up this season, but at least we have strength in depth this time... https://www.ecb.co.uk/county-championship/match-centre#match-7419
Gareth Berg is such an important player for us. Not a star name, but boy does me make valuable contributions with both bat and ball.
Even day, I'd say. Which in turn arguably means we leave the happier, because if you choose to bowl first (as Worcs did) then you should really be winning the first day.
I'd say 60/40 in Hampshire's favour, given the conditions and Worcestershire's batting line up. That last wicket stand of 48 could prove very important.
Possibility of tomorrow being washed out, so we may need to make the rest of the day really count. Annoying if we can't get a decent amount of cricket in tomorrow, because we're certainly in the driving seat right now.
Hmmm. Isn't going to make any difference right now if tomorrow gets washed out. We're heading for a result. I think if you offered me a 250 lead, I'd take it.
Not only has this morning been great in terms of adding to our lead, but we've also been bowled out at a brilliant time. A nice 20 minute session to have a go at them before lunch, and then again after. Abbott could end up bowling 10+ overs in a row here.
