Just nine fillies go to post for this but it may turn out to be the most competitive fillies’ race of the season:

Arabian Queen: won the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom on sole appearance this term. Followed sixth in last year’s Queen Mary with victory in the Cherry Hinton and sixth in Cheveley Park so may be a little out-classed here.

Ervedya: unbeaten this season winning the Prix Imprudence and the Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas); however, yet to race on ground faster than Good. Second to Found in last season’s Prix Marcel Boussac.

Found: disappointed on heavy ground on seasonal bow followed by second in Irish 1000 Guineas. Won last year’s Prix Marcel Boussac but only third in Moyglare on quick ground.

Irish Rookie: has featured in two Classics this term, being well beaten sixth in Newmarket 1000 Guineas on quick ground and close second to Ervedya in the Pouliches, so deserves to take her chance.

Local Time: well beaten in Newmarket 1000 Guineas after winning the UAE Oaks and the UAE 1000 Guineas at Meydan on dirt. As a juvenile won the Oh So Sharp Stakes on her only other turf start.

Lucida: close second to Legatissimo in Newmarket 1000 Guineas on seasonal debut. Won the Rockfel Stakes as a two-year-old after a close second in the Moyglare on quick ground.

Miss Temple City: impossible to gauge American raider who won the Hilltop Stakes over an extended mile at Pimlico on turf last time out having been second over a mile at Keeneland in her previous race.

Sperry: winner of both starts this term, latest a mile Listed York fillies’ race on quick ground, so clearly more needed here.

Yasmeen: just two career starts, following seven furlong maiden race win with close second to stablemate Sperry at York.

The key factor here appears to be the state of the ground. Ervedya has yet to encounter quick ground whilst Irish Rookie was well beaten on it. Found may be a middle distance filly and may not want the ground too quick. Jim Bolger’s filly Lucida has no ground concerns and deserves to collect a good reward like this for her efforts to date.

Lovely looking race and i'm quite keen on Lucida for it. Ran a belter against Legatissimo and I'm not sure there's anything of her quality in this field. I'm on at 7/2 this evening.
