Are they in danger of becoming too soft in wake of their inactions over the riots? Or are they afraid to be seen to be too aggressive with the constant media attention when a little bit of trouble breaks out. Back in the day when old man Dev was a bent facsist they didn't think twice about kicking the living daylights out of innocent people as well as the guilty ones. Admittedly there was no TV in those days so the filth could pretty much do as they pleased. Has the pendulum swung too far the other way. It would be good to get the view from any ex coppers on here who had first hand experience of watching people "falling down stairs".

Although I was one of the ones "falling down the stairs" I would say I probably deserved it, so yes they are being too soft
The Polis are fannies now, and every criminal knows this. They have no backup from the Courts or CPS and the Sentences are bullshit.
