    1) Nigel Pearson sacked and reinstated

    2) Marc Albrighton's missus tweets her delight at Pearson's apparent departure after Nuge's missus tweets being 'gutted' at the news - Marc Albrighton's missus now keeping her head down (so some compensation for Marc there <whistle> ... although he's probably training with the under 12s now)

    3) Brentford's manager Mark Warburton already head-hunted to succeed Pearson - hence uncertainty surrounding Warburton's future ... Warburton more interested in career progression than dough! (see what I did there?) ... no? ... use your loaf? ... see it now? ... (I'm here until Thursday)

    4) Pearson never wanted to sign Albrighton or Hamer - these were Terry Robinson acquisitions - which might explain a few strange team selection decisions ... as do the reactions above of Ms Albrighton and Ms Nugent respectively ...

    5) Gary Lineker does not pay his taxes (allegedly) - so what?? ... he comes from a family of market traders ffs! - they have a special dispensation or something ...

Well if Marc Albrighton's missus thinks Nige is getting his selections wrong, then he must be.

As for Lineker, I was disappointed with his comments about Morgan earlier in the season, now this. Does he think this helps? Seems getting retweets is more important than supporting his club these days.

Man, I wish they'd just do away with Twitter.

I don't understand what you gain from a 'retweet'.

Surely the continued respect and the upkeep of the reputation that your adoring supporters have of you is more important that a pixel on your phone screen. No?

Linekar's first response about MOTD was perfectly fair, but he went over the line with his wild speculation r.e. Nigel's supposed sacking.

I can see what a general fan could get out of a retweet, the whole, "oh my favourite player/manager/pundit/talentless nobody who's famous for a dirty video" noticed me kind of buzz (you've seen some of the idiots on there haven't you?).

I don't see a celebrity being bothered about whether their fans are retweeting them though, unless it's details of how to buy something they'll make money from like a new record they've got coming out.

    You think?

I thought NP just dug a bit deeper, at a time when he should really just keep his head down and do his job.

As a Leicester fan, Lineker should probably not have tweeted what he did, but I thought NP's response was crass and childish.

The various shots that the two have taken at each sum the two individuals up. Lineker's little twitter-friendly jabs were countered by Pearson's heavy uppercut. Bout over.

Personally, I think Pearson's totally got away with one with the strangling thing. He may have meant it as a joke but afterwards there was malice in his eyes, and McArthur looked completely uncomfortable. Credit to him for not condemning Pearson afterwards, although we don't know what was said that lead to the confrontation. When I saw it, I immediately thought that Pearson would be in big trouble, as it looked worse than Pardew's 'headbutt' the other season, and he was banned for ages, and I was expecting MOTD to completely lay into him on it. Instead, they just described it as 'strange,' without seeing anything really aggressive in it. It's hard to know who's really been saying what, as all parties seem to be misquoted, but I think Pearson's starting to lose it a bit, and I'm hoping the Srivadhannaprabhas have had a word with him, as I want him to stay!
