We have 11 games till the end of Jan and that will take us to 20 games so just a tad over halfway. To enable me to enjoy my new year I would like us to have 22 - 24 pts by then with ideally a clear 10 pt gap between us and the bottom 4. So can we get 11 -13pts from the next 11 games? My view is we will get 11 pts but I think the gap will be something like 6 to 8 pts. I think you're being a bit harsh on us there. I'm hoping last night's performance was the start of us coming together, if so I'd expect us to get more than just wins against west brom and norwich, and as ivor has said on another post...someone is in for a battering!!
I agree SA9 I was being deliberately harsh. I would hope that there is a possible 3 additional points in there which would get 2013 off to a flier.
If we are around the mid table mark on January 1st 2013 we will finish somewhere in the top half, I would love to get one of the European spots if we can. I enjoyed the last European adventure and want to see more and pit our wits against other top European sides.....we have a better than good chance this season...
All i know is that we need to safe in April as may is a struggle for us ! Its virtually impossible to predict any scores in this league but id fancy our chances against the likes of spurs at home than southampton or Norwich away! dont ask why, i just think we still struggle to come to terms with these kind of teams approach, hopefully laudrup is working on that and will be a lot more clued up come the second half of the season. One thing is for sure its going to be alot harder for teams to "work us out" with the subtle changes we seem to be making, our team looks more battle hardened yet still plays awesome stuff, sometimes it looked like man city wernt on the field when we moved it fast one touch style, intresting times ahead...if we stay clear of further injury !!
There are at least three wins in that list of yours Exile! Think there will be some big scalps too, I fancy us to get a result from Manu, Chelsea, and Arsenal at home! I'm going for at least 12 Points from those fixtures..... PS: Think we are in fantasy land, expecting a euro place after this seaons injury issues, need to be realistic lads...........
what does that mean??? so you dont want the swans to finish as high as they can.. Those of us old enough have seen the swans in Europe and you cant beat it.....I doubt everyone at the club will be saying "we have to learn to walk"..
I am old enough and have a good memory , I also remember what happened to us after the second season in Division 1, do you ? , lets be happy to consolidate ourselves in this league before looking to play additional games with a squad not big enough to sustain both , sorry to but it may come as a surprise to you but there are others which have followed the Swans probably for as long as you and believe it or not have an opinion which is a valid as yours (in my opinion)
So you dont want the club to make millions and the players to play against the top sides because we got relegated in our second season in div 1.. It was not because we were in disarray with old liverpool players too old to cope after one season then.......we were not good enough to stay in league one back then and nothing to do with playing a few games in Europe......There is nothing better than watching your team play the best of Europe and every player in the premiership would never turn down an opportunity if they could...
Europe would be a disaster for us. A load of extra games and a strain on resources. Fact is, most teams view the Europa League as a hastle . And the prize money is absolute peanuts.
