With the Yann thread I felt Chrissy Powell deserved a thread too. He was top class for us, did a decent job in League 1 and when Bruno got injured and McGivern was there Powell came in and did a decent job in the championship for us. But that doesn't even scratch the surface of Chris Powells time at Leicester. The rapport he had with the fans, especially in the warm ups with his mate Conrad Logan. He got the crowd going and was loved by everyone in football. When Nigel left for Hull Chris Powell stayed and steadied the ship showing loyalty. When Paulo Sousa got sacked and we played Scunthorpe with Chris Powell in charge when Franck Moussa scored in the last minute Powell ran from his technical area and joined in the celebrations with the players. Hugging the lino on the way (Unlike Alan Pardew who pushes them) When Sven came in Newcastle was after Powell but once again Powell shown loyalty to the club and when he did leave to Charlton he left with the best wishes of everyone at the club. When ever he was asked about his time here he has always paid tribute to the club as a whole and as often made his admiration for Nigel Pearson known. Having met him a few times aswell he is nothing but a true gent. He hasnt got a bad thing to say about anything. Chris Powell was a top man and a top servant to the club. I hope he has a very successful career as manager and after tonight Charlton have a very good season please log in to view this image
Legend. I won't be sad if we lose to a team managed by this man, and hope that he gets the other automatic promotion place
He said last night in the moan in that he may take one with his suit on. Rivals Bruno Berner and Pontus Kaamark as one of the nicest guys ever to pull on a LCFC shirt. Miss his smile - and hope we dont see him smile tonight.
Not many players make a geniune connection with the fans. In recent times I would say on Bruno Berner and Chris Powell have
