    England squad:

Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster (Celtic), Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion), Joe Hart (Manchester City).

Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jones (Manchester United) John Terry (Chelsea), Luke Shaw (Southampton), Chris Smalling (Manchester United) John Stones (Everton).

Midfielders: Ross Barkley (Everton), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Southampton), Frank Lampard (Chelsea) Gareth Barry (Everton), James Milner (Manchester City), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Attackers: Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Danny Welbeck (Manchester United) Jermain Defoe (Toronto FC).

Above underlined are the players I'd take out and the Bold to put it. Jones and Smalling are not as good as Stones and Terry.

Lampard isn't as good as a holding midfielder as Barry, who has had a good season and is valuable in that position. Defoe is scoring for fun in the USA and Welbeck hasn't been on form...only my humble opinion though....

Happy with the squad in general! How would you edit it?

In light of the FA's proposals for improving the England team I can't help noting that all but two do the selected players play for teams that finished in the top 8 of the Premier League.

A good squad and mix of youth and experience I think. Nice to see Ben back in too but no Ashley who seems out of favour both with England and man U.

Hodgson has had the time to get the squad he wants and whilst I am not expecting great things I am hoping that they will turn a few heads for four years time.

Seems to be a group with players will you feel will really want to do well and perform having had decent seasons.

Attacking wise it looks like a generally exciting squad - maybe lacking in depth at the back but then we all know about the lack of English players.

Be ironic if after all the fuss made by Greg Dyke the team go and exceed expectations.
