No introductions. No "welcome back, HIAG!" No fanfares. Just an open door. They've got a thread about me (the purpose of which is record all of my wonderful and insightful sayings and predictions throughout the coming season), and even though some of them are making out like they think I'm a knob, I can tell that, underneath, they really do care. Yeah, they may come on here and tell you differently and pretend to not like me, calling me hurtful names, but don't let that fool you. Deep down, there is the kind of respect that simply cannot remain hidden for long. I'm sure those boys are as touched as I am. Perhaps even a little bit more. Anyway, I feel that a bridge (forgive the pun) has been rebuilt, and it gives me hope that, even in the heat of the most bitter of rivalries, there still glimmers the light of respect and humility. It's not my place to make any demands, and I fully respect that the mods had their reasons, but if there ever is any chance to permit District Line back onto our board, I'd be willing to extend the arm of friendship and give him another chance. And if it's too soon, now, let the door not be shut forever. Yes, he got a little out of hand sometimes, but I actually did find him quite amusing. Quid pro quo, and all of that.
I don't think most of us mind a bit of banter, a bit of gentle wumming, even. So long as it doesn't descend into personal abuse, then I quite enjoy the task of helping to see them off. I think for most of us, it's the persistent, and boring, idiots that are the problem. people like Michigan, and currently, this Adam banana cretin (michigan, is that you, you little rascal?) so long as you your postings on the reasonable side of winding them up, hopefully there will be no further problems.
Right I'm setting up a sweepstake. I think he will be banned again by the end of July. What do other people reckon (and no, HIAG, you are not eligible).
That was done on purpose, notso. To be fair. I can't stop being a joker, see. And it's my deadpan delivery that gets me into hot water. I'll never learn.
Oh, I am sure there is going to be some banter as the season hots up. However, I don't think I've ever got abusive with posters on their own boards, which is why I've always felt a grave sense of injustice at my bannings. I am going to make a concerted effort, though, not to push it too far with the Chelsea boys, now that I know how sensitive they can be. And I'm sure they'll be the same with me
Being serious, I think your ban reflected very badly on them, never seen you be abusive. A little carried away maybe, but we are all guilty of that. Would say who I blamed for the banning, but I believe he is not around in sad circumstances, so best to leave that one.
Bloody 'ell, HIAG you got dirt on the mods or something? It appears they're softening to you because they're more optimistic about their teams, HIAG. Expect them to promptly ban you again when all your predictions start coming true
HIAG like myself was never abusive but often wound members up so much that any time he posted it would detract from the original conversation. We get HIAG and miss his banter. Things often get lost in translation over the net
His missus passed away, sadly. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/149570-Ginge?highlight=Ginger Marks
"it's the persistent, and boring idiots that are the problem." I agree. I actually get a kick out of the scathing stuff--if it's funny or original, and it's not repeated ad infinitum. The old 606 tended to have all threads hijacked by wums, but a couple of the wums were good fun, I thought. The people I don't want are the ones who hijack a promising thread by reigniting some ancient and dull argument.
