Absolutely. Win our home games, draw our away games and we’ll be reet. I reckon we can beat Boro and get a point from Leeds. Home games all look winnable.
I think they’ll win, comfortably. 30 goals scored and only 7 conceded on home turf so far this season
As I've said previously I don't fear any team in the league. We are a good team with options increasing as injured players come back. It will be a huge effort from the players but automatic promotion is on imo
Just having a read of some Boro fans on twitter and a large portion of them have completely turned on Carrick.
They're a very good team but just had two draws where they've thrown away the lead in the last few minutes ... ... hopefully that will prey on their minds, especially their rubber-fingered keeper
Without being overly optimistic, at the start of the season, it's difficult to see how the table could be any better imo. 10 points from the team in seventh place. Lost 4 from 27, the same as the team on top. The best form, of the top six, over the last three games. Burnley play Leeds a week on Monday. The three teams below us, on 41 points, have only won one game each from their last five. Two of them play each other on Tuesday. Coventry, Hull, Stoke and Luton, all teams we were warned about, absolutely nowhere. Yes we've dropped points but so has everyone ... ... Leeds at Sunderland, Sheff Utd at Sunderland, Burnley home & away to Sunderland. And no one else has Le Fée
It's a shame someone has died but I have to say I don't think it's any more sad because it's a football match. Because we're all supporters we feel it more I suppose. But every day in every town of 20,000 people, a town the size of Hebburn, there'll be an ambulance for someone who won't be coming home. If it's a tragic accident at the ground that's one thing but passing away is inevitable ... ... I'd quite like my final breath to be at a Sunderland game tbh, just hope I wouldn't delay the game for everyone.
I remember being in the North Stand, probably about 20 years ago now, and some poor fella being attended to by the emergency services for quite some time, by the time he was carried out on a stretcher it was obvious he’d passed away. Some lad behind us said “ that’s how I want to go, at 1-0 up….!”
He’s just another Russell Martin/Brendan Rodgers type - obsessed with possession stats and passing accuracy. Arrogance about playing style rather than being effective
This thread is becoming increasingly interesting and relevant. Personally I don't think it's sunk in yet, just how important is the gap to seventh place. We're naturally distracted by the chase for the top two places so not really looking at the play-off positions. I expected us to be in a fight with Boro, Blackburn, Luton, Coventry, etc, but we're exceeding expectations. One interesting aspect is that QPR seem to have the entire situation in their hands They're our final game, at home, in what could be a massive day. Before then, in March, they have Sheff Utd H, WBA A, Boro A, Leeds H and Burnley H the game before us ... ... they could either help us into the top two or the play-offs. However, they're in very good form, and only six points from 6th place so could end up playing us at Wembley. As much as I'd want us to win you'd have to say that would be a massive achievement after Ainsworth almost wrecked them.
Blackburn v Coventry Derby v Sunderland Boro v WBA Swansea v Sheff Utd Watford v Preston Some interesting games for the promotion/playoff challengers tonight. Hope Swansea can bounce back from a horrific derby day and get something from Sheff Utd. Mowbray should get a good reception at Boro.
