Just watching the Chelsea match vs Basel and Chelsea's RB has caught the Basel player with a challenge not a million miles away from the one Sess did.

    Result - Yellow Card

Now I don't like to see these challenges but let's have consistency. it's either all or nothing you can't have one team lose a player for 3 matches whereas another gets a yellow card.

Bloody disgrace. Mind you if we were a 'TOP 4' team nowt would have happened.....

    RANT OVER!!!!!

Good rant mate and all true, the lack of consistency pisses everyone off and leads to a us and them attitude as you say a top four side would have been given a yellow if that. Was surprised the appeal failed mind but, that's the FA for you they along with the media seem to have a ****ing big chip on their shoulder regarding us.

Disagree froggy - The challenge by Gouffran was far worse than Sessegnon - Sess made contact with the top of his foot and Gouffran went over the ball and made contact half way up the shin - I personally think the 2 challenges by Benteke on Rose were much more malicious than Sessegnon and he never even got spoken to (and I don';t think they were red cards but definitely yellow).

How many times have we seen worse challenges than Sessegnon's go completely unpunished from the likes of Luiz, Aguero (terrible 2 footed tackle), Cabaye, Gerrard, Rooney without retribution? I bet I've seen worse challenges than Sessegnon's over 100 times this season without a card even being shown. The FA are a bunch of twats and seriously need to look at this "support the ref" thing - McManaman on Haidara is a prime example - they have only ever bent the rules on that with joey Barton! And I saw him get away with worse challenges than Sessegnon which shows exactly how bad the challenge must have been!

We all get ****ed over by the governing bodies, regardless of if you think the 'top 4' (whoever they are nowadays) always seem to get away with it.

People say Nani's challenge in the CL game deserved a red card, but to argue that every United fan will present you with Nigel De Jong's challenge on Xabi Alonso in the WC Final. The only thing that can resolve it is consistency, and the only way to get consistency is to have video technology readily available for the officials. Video technology won't be approved by Fifa whilst Sepp Blatter is in charge. The game is corrupt from top to bottom, from drugs to bungs to dodgy 'Arry and until we all accept it as part of the game, we're all gonna get livid every time it happens with our club.

Blame Blatter, then blame Platini, the two biggest cancers in the game.

Paolo Di Canio has blamed too much “positive poison” for Sunderland’s collapse at Aston Villa – and ordered his “nice” players to toughen up.

The Black Cats boss wants an end to the culture of over-celebrating *victories and says his side’s bookings and sending-off count is too low.

The Italian held an inquest into his side’s 6-1 defeat on Monday when Stephane Sessegnon was sent off.

Di Canio, who claimed he could “smell” the *likelihood of a problem before the game, insists the *performance will not be repeated at home against Stoke on Monday. He said: “The fact is Sunderland have not won anything at the top level for years.

“So when they beat Man City 1-0 it is party time. Beat Newcastle, and it is a three-day party for the fans.

Hammered time: Sunderland were humiliated by Aston Villa
    Laurence Griffiths

“I have never had this experience before. I cannot go 400 metres for a haircut without 20 people coming to see me. It is like Naples. They hug me.

“I did not imagine this. I can’t wave too much in the future, because it can be too much positive poison.

“I could smell what might happen at Villa. We lost badly.

“This is a very genuine group, one of the best I have seen – but very shy.

“Now, I don’t want to see my players getting red cards, but even in terms of yellow cards, this isn’t a team that has suffered much in that respect. Maybe we are too nice.

“I’m not saying we have to have the devil in us because people will say, ‘Di Canio wants a killer in his team’.

“But we are sometimes too clean. We need to have more of an edge.”

I don;t think Nani's was EVER a red - probably not even a yellow as it was completely accidental as was Sessegnon (and it was a trod on a foot FFS - I watched a ref have a word with someone who intentionally stamped on someone's foot) - the biggest thing about it for me is the oppo's reaction - he went down screaming like a girl and Lambert and the twats around him all running towards the pitch to help Probert make is decision. I watched a all studs showing kick in the face by Gomez on Lewis Holtby at the weekend and, had Holtby rolled about like he'd been shot, chances are Gomez would've gone (which, to be fair, he should have anyway) but Holtby just wanted to play football and kept going for the ball... Sylla or whatever he's called, rolled about for a few minutes and had nothing wrong with him at all - nothing! Detest the play acting

Look lads, abysmal decision that it was/is and as ****ing warped as the F(uck) A (ll) are in dealing with these things, the fact is he is banned and we cant change that now. At elast he will be available for the start of the new season now.

Instead of comparing other tackles (isnt going to win us an appeal of the appeal is it) we should be very concerned about who can play on Monday night and against both Southampton and Spurs next games?

I have told you, they are at it again this season after the Norwich game they have said make sure Sunderland get hammered by decisitions. It is fixed. Its funny how the ref in the derby game gets demoted after that performance then gets a champions league semi final!. These scumbag cheating players and managers are getting away with it right under the refs nose. Sess should not even have been sent off never mind getting a 3 match ban. I will scrutinisse ALL tackles at every club untill the end of the season now.
And as for mondays game i am trying to work out who will get sent off in that one and for what.

True mate however that does not make these things right. There is a clear bias to certain clubs (despite what you all may think, NUFC are not a beneficiary of it lol) and the Sess "challenge" warranted nothing but a yellow at the most. Loads of bad challenges go unpunished. Call me a conspiracy theorist, however I think the people in charge know who they can kick about and they do so!
