The Cat and the Canary are soon to meet
Each in their own seaworthy boat,
For either or both it would be quite a feat
If in May, they were still well afloat,
And not just for them, but for the bottom ten
Or so, the picture is the same,
    Any result seems possible, when
Any two of them meet in a game,
Cats seem to win every game in the Cup
    With notable victories there,
But their league form is hard to dress up
To more than just average fare,
Canaries the same, have been both hot and cold
With some ´cold´ more arctic in fact,
But each tíme they hit some storm winds they´ve been bold
In the next game, and so they´ve bounced back,
And in these quick-fire times of sacking folk
Chris Hughton is still at the wheel,
Universally acknowledged as ´a good bloke´
Even on Wearside he may appeal,
And after a time with P. Di Canio
The Cats said enough is enough,
And waved farewell to that fiery cameo
Hoping Poyet can do his stuff,
So what to expect this coming Saturday
When predator hosts the wee bird,
Although the moggy likes stalking its prey
In flight, the canary is assured,
Can fleet-footed Redmond adjust his sat nav
When preparing his feet to shoot,
Who knows what sort of day we might have
If Hooper can cash in, to boot,
But I think a stalemate would seem on the cards
On the long road, which ends in May,
And for both, a point, would edge them forwards
To the next encounter on their way. OTBC - IHIT

Great stuff RBF, I too would take a draw right now but I'm hoping for a win, I don't want to see the Black Cats in trouble, I'd just prefer it if they got their points elsewhere!

Well done RBF, and I also see the draw as favourite, but these are the matches that make our season.

Excellent appraisal RBF, but as RM2 says, we really need to pick up wins (though it won't be easy against the teams around or below us. Whoever plays will have to work hard and not gift 'the cats' any goals though.

Although they may have got a lift from their recent Cup exploits, they might find they´re in danger of doing a Wigan or a Birmingham and sacrificing their league place for a good Cup run, 3 points would warm greatly up there. <ok>
