shrews visit the emirates on tuesday night knowing they have won 5 out of their last 6 games, which compares most favourably with the arsenal's worst start to a season for years. after losing at blackburn today 4-3, they languish in 15th place with several teams below them with games in hand. arsenal p5 w1 d1 L3 f6 a14 gd -8 points 4 posit. 15 few of us seriously believe the shrews will be in the 4th round, but the way town are playing at home and away in the league, a shock result is possible, town having dispatched championship pacemaker derby county away and premier swansea at home will be keen to make a good impression at the emirates. after all we have nothing to lose, if we go out,we return to our auto promo place and continue our promo challenge. arsenal are expected to play a reserve side against town, well they cannot perform worse than the first team, but i say to arsenal beware and do not take the shrews for granted, we have a pedigree, just ask derby and swansea. floreat salopia, come on you shrews breathe on 'em!
good luck aj hope you batter them mate, and i hope arse...nal keep wenger he is doing a great job for the woolwich nomads
of limited interest but it is worth mentionig arsenals last 5 results in the premier league blackburn 4 arsenal 3, arsenal 1 swansea 0, man utd 8 arsenal 2,arsenal 0 liverpool 2, and newcastle 0 arsenal 0. in todays defeat arsenal conceded 2 own goals!
I was getting more optimistic about the Arsenal game after hearing the results today only to find that we will now be missing both Sharps and Cansdell-Sheriff on Tuesday. That is going to cause us a big problem as it looks like we will now have two teenagers in our defence unless we can conjure up an emergency loan replacement of quality (how about asking John Terry after he has played against Man U tomorrow - he might be up for a chance to embarrass the Arsenal). Neverless we have the marvellous Marvin and the wonderful Wrightie and the amazing Ainsworth up front so I reckon win or lose we are good for a goal or two against a shaky Arsenal defence.
There might be a loan attempt by monday, but Grandison and Hazell in CD could do some good choppin at those delicate southern-softy juniors legs.
from watching MOTD it looks like arsenal can act as extra players for the town to help us get a huge scoreline.
having seen the match on the box in the pub, gt could put a couple of boy scouts in defence to plug the gaps. one day arsenal will bounce back big time, just hope they avoid tuesday
I think we need another striker as well tbh, Will Keane of Utd maybe? SAF knows we bring players up in the right way and he'd be a quality addition(not to dislodge MM and Gornell though). PS carrying on from where they left off last season, Arsenal have 2 wins in 15. The time is right!
having "tinkered" with the arsenal boards i have learned the following from one of their supporters--" if we lose tomorrow night that will really **** up our season, that will be the ******* end"- so come shrews **** up their season and make it the ******* end. come on shrews don't stand their like ***** lets have a ******* goal fest. come on you shrews breathe on 'em. (with apologies for the north london language) er not heard it before. floreat salopia
